Job description

Title: Precision Machinist
Pay Rate: $26/hr - $32/hr DOE + $2/hr differential
Hours: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11pm
Location: Beaverton, OR Onsite
Type: Direct Hire + full benefits
We are looking to hire an experienced Tool Room Machinist to join a well-known Oregon company recognized for its robust products used in outdoor sporting, hunting, and competition shooting. Along with full and comprehensive benefits, this opportunity also includes relocation assistance for anyone looking to make the move from out of state!
About the Role
What you will be doing:
  • Set up and operates manual machines, such as lathes, milling machines or grinders, to machine simple to moderately complex parts to specifications.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to layout stock for machining and assist Tool & Die Maker with computing dimensions and planning layout and assembly operation.
  • Positions and secures parts in a holding device. Uses hand-tools to fit and assemble parts to assemblies or mechanisms.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Aid the Tool Grinders and Tool and Die Makers as needed.
  • Provides required work tools and measurement devices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

About You
Required Qualifications:
  • High school education or equivalent and two years of trade school training in machining technologies plus two years related tool room or manufacturing experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Hands on experience with manual Lathes, Mills, and Surface Grinders.
  • Previous experience with Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing and print reading required.
  • Previous hands on CNC programming and MasterCAM experience.
  • Experience working within tight tolerances with materials like steel.
