Key Responsibilities Tool Construction : Build and repair complex stage dies, progressive dies, and fixtures. Machining : Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment with high precision. Design Integration : Collaborate with engineering to develop and refine tool blueprints.
Troubleshooting : Diagnose production die failures and implement permanent engineering fixes. Quality Control : Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators. Ability to set up progressive and single hit operation dies.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience : Minimum of 10 years as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker. Education : High school diploma and completion of a formal apprenticeship program. Blueprint Reading : Advanced ability to interpret complex geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Precision : Ability to hold tolerances as tight as +/- 0.0002 inches. Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills to optimize stamping and forming processes.
