Job description

Tool & Die Maker - Journeyman
2nd Shift Monday-Friday (3:30 pm - 12:00 midnight)
Hourly Wage Rate $36.84 + shift premium
Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Tool & Die Maker to be based out of Wayne, MI. 2nd shift position for a candidate with experience. The Hourly wage rate for those holding a Journeyman card is $36.84. Reporting to the Tool & Die Manager, this person will be responsible for making and maintaining all types of tools, dies, and fixtures.
What you'll do:
Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine assemblies to perform necessary repairs on tools, manually-operated dies, and progressive dies
  • Ensure accuracy of work performed by conducting test runs on tools and/or dies to ensure all components meet specifications
  • Ability to make adjustments to work performed when needed
  • Ability to independently select the proper metals and materials to meet project specifications
  • Set up and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools
  • Interface with internal and external customers to ensure demands are being met
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork, transactions, tags, etc.
  • Adhere to all Life Saving Rules, including: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols
  • Ensure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met daily
  • Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas
  • Other job duties as assigned

What you'll bring:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience using CAD and CNC software preferred
  • 1 - 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • 3 - 5 years experience in Tool & Die making required;
  • Journeyman cardholder status required
  • Basic math and verbal skills
  • Excellent technical skills, to include the ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery
  • Flexibility of shift scheduling, to include overtime and weekends
