Omnimax is an international building products company manufacturing aluminum, steel, vinyl and copper products. Core products include specialty coated coils, metal wall and roof systems, metal and vinyl rain carrying systems, soffit and fascia systems, roofing accessories, aluminum and vinyl windows and doors, patio products, aluminum recreational vehicle doors, windows and sidewalls and aluminum bath and shower enclosures. Products are then represented in the market by multiple brands

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 Years of Manual lathe, manual surface grinder and manual milling machine experience
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening
  • Must be able to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Very good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly techniques
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions with limited supervision

Basic Description:
Set up and operate a variety of manual machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Includes precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. May also reverse engineer, fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

General Job Description:

  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as manual lathes, manual milling machines, and manual surface grinders.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, and drawings, in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
  • Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock in order to display placement of cuts.
  • Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
  • (Preferred extra experience) include the application of one or more craft skills, (i.e. mechanical, electrical, or welding, )  install, fabricate, troubleshoot, repair, move & maintain a wide variety of production & related equipment, facilities equipment, buildings and systems. Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of complex mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and systems such as motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
  • Assist in installing new machinery and equipment and moves machinery and equipment to affect layout changes as required; work may include operations, such as rigging, moving, erecting, aligning, and making necessary hook-ups, placing equipment in proper operating condition
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities of all types, including the most critical types requiring extensive dismantling, re-assemble, and critical adjustment, lubrication, and/or calibration
  • Fabricate machine guarding
  • Reads and maintains accessible blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals, etc.
  • Tracks and records work history and maintains inventory on a daily basis using CMMS.
  • Creates work orders for planned and unplanned work using computerized maintenance system.
  • Work from drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
  • Daily inspections of production equipment for correct operation.
  • Recommend improvements and upgrades to improve equipment operation.
  • Work extended hours and on weekend as needed

  • Must have manual machinist experience. None of our machines are CNC .
