Job Summary:

Plant Operator is responsible for independent operation and maintenance of a RNG processing plant. This includes but not limited to compression, treating facilities including solvent regeneration, CO2 extraction, gas dehydration, condensate and product storage, truck loading, electrical generation, and other facilities and associated activities. All duties performed must follow safety guidelines and have a safety-first mindset. The Plant Operator carries out directions of the Plant Manager to ensure optimum plant performance and environmental compliance. Work will involve vigorous outdoor activities in ALL weather conditions.


**You must live within 45 minutes of assigned site/area (Melissa, Tx) to be considered for this position.**

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and follow basic operating procedures for plant operations.
  • Prepare morning reports, daily logs, and conduct daily plant walk-throughs.
  • Develop basic knowledge of plant treating processes, including location and function of each step.
  • Perform routine maintenance (e.g., changing filters, greasing bearings, valve maintenance)
  • Understand and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
  • With supervision, isolation and de-energize equipment.
  • Gain general knowledge of plant procedures and SOPs.
  • Assist in plant maintenance work as required.
  • Communicate with vendors (e.g., water disposal, oil deliveries)
  • Adhere to safety practices, use PPE, identify hazards, and address safety concerns respectfully.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to the maintenance log.
  • Communicate effectively with all teams on location to identify issues and contribute to increasing gas flow from the field.
  • Assist in various tasks during upset conditions, including supporting maintenance techs, field techs, construction activities, and plant operations.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards (clean & clear of clutter) in shop, storage, and UTV areas.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Follow established field/plant maintenance procedures and design standards.
  • Participate in:
    • Ongoing training and education.
    • Peer-to-peer training and knowledge sharing.
    • Innovation and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Fundamentals of working with computers and navigating Microsoft applications
  • Ability to multitask and be self-directed.
  • No previous experience is required.
  • Training provided in custom applications (flow computers, gas chromatograph, plant controls, process safety management)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RNG/Landfill experience
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Process plant operations experience

Requirements:

  • Willingness to be trained in reading P&IDs, plant safety procedures, and documentation
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication to team success.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must clear background check and drug test.
  • The ability to communicate effectively.
  • The ability to be punctual, dependable, and willing to work long hours if needed is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Must have good manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods. This includes walking catwalks, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, lifting, driving a vehicle, and operation of light industrial equipment.
  • The ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks in extreme weather conditions.
  • The ability to work week days and weekends.
  • The ability to work overtime and respond to callouts during off hours.
  • The ability to respond in a timely manner to any emergency.

Work Environment & Travel

Schedule/Shift:

  • Overtime required based on operational needs
  • On-call availability may be required
