What is a Tokenization job?

A Tokenization job typically involves working with financial transactions, data security, or blockchain technology to convert sensitive data into secure, non-sensitive equivalents called tokens. Professionals in this role implement tokenization systems to protect sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or personal data, from fraud or breaches. They may work with compliance teams to ensure adherence to data security regulations. The job often requires expertise in encryption, cybersecurity, and payment processing technologies.

What are some typical challenges faced in a tokenization role?

One of the main challenges in a tokenization role is staying ahead of evolving cybersecurity threats while ensuring that payment and sensitive data remain secure and compliant with industry regulations. Professionals in this role often need to balance the demands of integrating tokenization solutions with existing IT infrastructures and minimizing disruptions to business operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including developers, compliance officers, and external vendors—requires strong communication and project management skills. By proactively addressing these challenges, tokenization specialists play a pivotal role in protecting valuable data assets and fostering customer trust.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Tokenization position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a tokenization role, candidates need a solid understanding of payment card industry (PCI) standards, data security protocols, and encryption technologies, often supported by a computer science degree or relevant certifications like CISSP or CISM. Technical proficiency with tokenization platforms, cybersecurity tools, and payment processing systems is typically required. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities are valuable soft skills for collaborating across IT and business teams. These skills are essential for protecting sensitive data, ensuring compliance, and implementing secure, seamless payment solutions.

Job description

Location: Needham, MA | Hybrid - 3 days per week in office

About the Role:
SharkNinja is looking for a Sr. UX Designer to join our Global Digital Store team in Needham, MA. This role is central to delivering high-quality, user-centered digital experiences across SharkNinja's direct-to-consumer websites globally. You will own complex UX workstreams from brief through final handoff, partner closely with product, creative, and marketing teams, and contribute to the design systems and standards that keep our ecommerce experiences consistent and scalable across markets.

This is a hands-on design role for someone who is confident owning projects independently, brings strong craft and editorial judgment, and can operate at pace in a fast-moving ecommerce environment without losing sight of the user.
What You'll Do

Design & Execution
Own the end-to-end UX design process for assigned digital workstreams - from discovery and wireframes through prototypes, design system updates, stakeholder reviews, and developer handoff.
Design across a range of ecommerce areas including homepages, product listing pages, product pages, checkout flows, navigation, landing pages, and on-site personalization.
Apply responsive and mobile-first principles to every experience, advocating for accessibility and usability at each stage and ensure designs meet critical viewport responsiveness needs.
Operate at expert level in Figma - building components, managing libraries, and ensuring files are clean, scalable, and ready for development via tokenization.

Research & Validation
Partner with research and analytics teams to ground design decisions in user behavior and business data. Contribute to user testing sessions, session replay analysis, and A/B testing to validate and refine solutions. Translate consumer insights and performance data into actionable design improvements.

Collaboration & Contribution
Work closely with product managers, developers, creative teams, and regional DTC partners to align on requirements and deliver fast, high-quality UX solutions.
Contribute to SharkNinja's shared design systems, Figma libraries, and style guides, helping maintain consistency and scalability across regions. Participate actively in design reviews and critique sessions, communicating design rationale clearly and incorporating feedback constructively. Informally support more junior designers on the team through review and day-to-day collaboration.

What You Bring (Required)
4+ years of UX design experience with a focus on ecommerce or direct-to-consumer digital products
Expert Figma proficiency components, auto-layout, design systems, and developer handoff
Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX work: research, ideation, wireframes, prototypes, and final design
Strong command of responsive design, interaction design, and usability best practices
AI knowledge in how to leverage and integrate Claude, Figma and other AI tools to increase efficiency and design automation
Demonstrated ability to use user research, analytics, and A/B testing data to validate design decisions
Clear, confident communication skills able to present and defend design decisions to product, marketing, and development partners

Preferred
Experience working within a global or multi-market ecommerce environment
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, user research platforms, and analytics dashboards
Working knowledge of UI engineering principles and front-end implementation considerations
Experience using AI tools within design workflows (e.g., Figma AI, generative tools for rapid ideation)
