Job description

Hindi Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor will assist an ongoing requirement for Live Virtual Distance Learning (DL) Foreign Language, Regional Expertise, and Cultural (LREC) instruction and LREC program support services. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to: Provide virtual language instruction to improve foreign language proficiency skills across the modalities of Listening, Reading, and Speaking (L/R/S) as measured by the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT), ACTFL or Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI). Provide virtual instruction on regional and culture subjects, using modern communicative and blended-learning methodologies.

Provide instructions based on designated POI when applicable. Develop lesson plans or other learning material, as required. Possess the ability to assess, develop a lesson plan, and deliver instruction based on student interest and levels varying from ILR 0+ - 3, Review, correct, and grade assignments, discuss and provide feedback, as required.

Maintain a positive and professional virtual learning environment, and address student behavior/attendance concerns with designated Managers. Collaborate with designated Managers and/or Academic's Manager and/or Coordinators to address student and curriculum gaps.Required Qualifications: Must be a US Citizen Educated native speaker of the foreign language or a near-native foreign language capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent. Experience in providing various levels of foreign language instruction through a virtual environment

Understanding of the cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region. Experience in creating blended learning lessons and the ability to tailor existing materials to fit the customer's needs and expectations. Instructor must have access to a computer with Windows, Webcam, Headset with a Microphone, a Cellular Phone or Smart Tablet, and a High-Speed Internet connection.

English Language Qualifications: Completed formal study of the English Language and achieved the score indicated on any of the below: At least ILR level 2 as measured by DoD test. A score of 553 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) PBT, or TOEFL iBT score as follows: 83 minimum overall and at least 20 each in Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. A score of no less than 82 on the English Comprehension Level (ECL) test.

At least a proficiency level 2 or Advanced-Low (ACTFL) on an OPI. Target Language Qualifications: Language Instructor will possess general professional proficiency (a language rating of ILR level 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High) or higher in the specified foreign language. Proficiency will be demonstrated by one of the following: Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) or 2-skill OPI from the DLIFLC.

An interview certified by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). Defense Language Proficiency Test. Desired Qualifications: Experience using online platforms, such as CL-150, Adobe Connect, Canvas, and Moodle.

Experience instructing and developing adult learners' proficiency skills in the modalities of Listening, Reading, and Speaking (L/R/S) as measured by the Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) or Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI).
