FAST LANE TRANSPORTATION, INC. – Wilmington, CA

Job description

Fast Lane Transportation, Inc., an established leader for over 40 years in the intermodal industry, has openings at its Wilmington, California location.

The UTR driver may also be referred to as a yard goat, yard hostler, yard jockey or yard mule.

The UTR driver position organizes chassis and containers within the yard ensuring efficiency of space and ease of access for pick-up, delivery and transfer of chassis and containers. This role may also be responsible for maintenance of the yard surface dependent on weather conditions throughout the year.

Successful candidates will be able to work as part of a team and pitch in where ever needed. Flexibility is essential in this work environment. Customer needs change and new opportunities occur on a regular basis. A “that’s not my job” mentality would not be a good fit. We encourage cross training in order to further support our ongoing need for flexibility.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2-years intermodal or transportation specific experience.
  • Flexible scheduling – we are currently staffing for all shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to handle physical workload.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to use safe work practices. These are safety sensitive positions.
  • Valid driver license and good driving record.
  • Able to successfully complete a drug screen, background investigation and pre-employment physical.
  • Steel toe shoes are required. We offer a work boot purchase program to offset the cost of steel toe shoes.

Fast Lane Transportation, Inc. offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience and background. Benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life are available on the first of the month following 60-days of employment; 401(k) with match available after 1 year; paid vacation, paid sick leave and 8 paid holidays per year are available after 90-days of continuous employment.

Schedule:
• Day shift - 9 hour shift - 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Night shift - 9 hour shift - 8:30 PM - 6:00 AM
• Day and night shifts
• Overtime Required
• Weekend availability

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
