Contract Duration: 03/01/2026 - 07/31/2026 (Initial 30-90 days, extension based on performance)
Bill Rate: $18/hour ON 1099

Position Overview
This is an advanced-level Traffic Management Center (TMC) operator role responsible for ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow across regional roadways. The technician monitors transportation systems, detects and responds to traffic incidents, manages congestion, and supports real-time roadway operations with minimal supervision.
Shift Schedule (10 Hours/Day | EST)
  • Wednesday: 4:30 PM - 12:00 AM
  • Thursday: 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM
  • Friday: 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM
  • Saturday: 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM

(Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday - Off)
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate advanced traffic management systems to monitor and manage roadway conditions.
  • Detect, confirm, document, and respond to scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents.
  • Monitor roadways via CCTV, detection systems, and related surveillance tools.
  • Manage Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and 511 traveler information systems, ensuring accuracy of displayed information.
  • Enter and update incident data using traffic management software.
  • Dispatch and coordinate Service Patrols.
  • Collaborate with Highway Patrol, local law enforcement, fire/rescue, and adjacent DOT regions for incident response.
  • Utilize Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG) for incident detection, dispatch, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Maintain working knowledge of detector stations, CCTV systems, traffic devices, and roadway networks.
  • Monitor traffic equipment, devices, and associated computer systems.
  • Escalate complex issues to supervisors as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong technical aptitude with computer-based systems.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced operations environment.
  • Local candidates only (Chattanooga, TN).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dispatch or call center experience (strongly preferred).
