Job description

Be the Person Who Keeps Everything Running.

At Barrister Title, every successful closing starts long before clients arrive at the closing table. It starts with someone who loves organization, enjoys helping people, and finds satisfaction in making sure every detail is exactly where it needs to be. If you're the person who keeps lists, color-codes your calendar, catches the little things others miss, and enjoys a fast-paced day where no two transactions are exactly alike, we'd love to meet you. We're looking for an Escrow Technician / Closing Scheduler to become an essential part of our Schererville team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with title, mortgage, real estate, or administrative experience who wants to grow within the title industry.

About the Role:
You'll be the hub of communication for our office, coordinating closings, preparing files, and making sure every transaction stays organized and on schedule. You'll work closely with our processors, closers, examiners, Realtors, lenders, buyers, and sellers to help create the smooth, welcoming closing experience Barrister Title is known for.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, thrives on organization, and takes pride in making everyone else's job easier.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare files for upcoming closings.
  • Monitor transaction timelines and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Answer incoming calls and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Welcome clients and help create a warm, professional closing experience.
  • Communicate with all parties throughout the transaction to keep everyone informed.
  • Assist the closing team with administrative and escrow-related tasks.
  • Support teammates wherever needed to keep the office running smoothly.

What We're Looking For:
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in title, mortgage, real estate, banking, legal, or a related office environment is preferred.
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professional, friendly communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to prioritize changing deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • SoftPro experience is a plus but not required.

You'll Thrive Here If You...
  • Love keeping calendars and schedules organized.
  • Enjoy helping people.
  • Stay calm when the office gets busy.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Notice the small details others overlook.
  • Like checking things off your to-do list.
  • Take pride in creating a great experience for every client.

  • Opportunities to learn and grow within the title industry.
  • A company that values kindness, accountability, and teamwork.
  • A workplace where your ideas and contributions matter.
