This role is responsible for evaluating risk, mentoring team members, collaborating with internal and external partners, and ensuring compliance with underwriting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.***\*Applicants to this position must possess Illinois underwriting experience and must be able to work a hybrid schedule out of one of our 10 Chicagoland office locations.*****Daily Responsibilities may include:*** Review and respond to underwriting questions received directly or through shared email folder in a prompt and courteous manner.* Assist Title Examiners with questions related to title worksheets or title commitments.* Mentor Junior Underwriter to build knowledge of title underwriting and industry standards.* Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong relationships with approved attorney customers.* Collaborate with underwriting colleagues to evaluate complex risks and ensure compliance with underwriting authority and company guidelines.* Communicate underwriting concerns promptly to management.* Support sales representatives in strengthening customer relationships.* Comply with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and required compliance training.* Review deeds, deeds of trust, mechanic’s liens, tax liens, judgments, probate records, surveys, and other recorded documents.* Assess ownership interests, legal descriptions, and matters affecting title.* Serve as a liaison among customers, attorneys, escrow agents, and lenders throughout transactions.* Partner with Agency Services, Escrow, National Commercial Services, and other departments as needed.* Underwrite and service title insurance transactions throughout Illinois* Review, underwrite, and issue commercial title commitments, policies, and endorsements on an as-needed basis.#LI-KB1The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work.
