Job description

Job Description: Role and Responsibilities
Request and receive tissue samples from outside pathology facilities.
Send tissue blocks to vendor to have slides cut and ship these slides to the study’s lab.
Label, receive, and process samples (blood, urine, tissue etc.) for clinical trials per specific protocol guidelines to include logging samples into and out of the department.
Record all data in specified forms per clinical trial (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
Recognize discrepancies in the data on the samples and coordinate with the staff to correct.
Organize and store all reagents according to safety instructions.
Maintain equipment and a clean and orderly lab environment.
Restock lab consumables at the end of the day.
Manage inventory of clinical trial supplies and kits as well as departmental supplies.
Administrative functions to include filing, scanning, copying, and emailing of work documents.
Ship or store samples as per protocol before the end of the shift.
Prepare all collection tubes and aliquots for the next day’s clinic with accuracy and responsibility.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School Diploma required, Preferred Lab Assistant training or Associate’s degree or higher. Certification not required.
Preferred Skills
IATA Dangerous Goods handling—if not previously certified will train after hire
Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel and databases
