K&R Truck Sales and West Michigan International (WMI) are seeking a dedicated Tire Repair & Skive Technician to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a supportive, family-owned company that values its employees. With locations across West Michigan, we pride ourselves on providing top-notch service and support to our customers. The Tire Repair & Skive Technician plays a crucial role in the tire manufacturing and recycling process, ensuring the quality and safety of retreaded tires. This position specializes in identifying and repairing damage to tires, including performing skiving operations to remove damaged sections of the tire. Join us and be part of a team that makes a difference in the transportation industry.

Responsibilities
  • Repair injuries on and in tires using skiving tools
  • Inspect tires for damage and wear
  • G100  
  • Operate specialized machinery and tools
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Perform other duties as necessary
  • Shift: 6am - 2pm or until production is finished
Qualifications
  • Ability to learn and operate facility equipment and machinery
  • Requires standing and walking, with some bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
  • Ability to occasionally move and handle tires weighing up to 100lbs
  • Subject to cold and hot temperatures
