Job Description

The Digital Services Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust digital service solutions that enhance the organization's technological capabilities. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, scalable, and secure services while adhering to industry best practices and standards.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Design and develop digital service solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks
  • Analyze technical requirements and translate them into efficient, organized system architectures
  • Develop and maintain APIs and web services that integrate seamlessly with existing systems
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues with precision and attention to detail
  • Implement and optimize database solutions to ensure reliable data management
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure code meets organizational standards
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies
  • Document technical specifications, processes, and solutions in a clear and organized manner
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
  • Support deployment activities and ensure smooth integration of new services into production environments
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in digital services
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

    • Associates degree in Engineering or related field
    • Strong proficiency in at least one programming languages (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar)
    • Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal and industrial automation platforms
    • Proficiency in TIA Portal programming languages (SCL, LAD, or STL)
    • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
    • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Visa sponsorship & relocation for Continental employees only.  

    ADDITIONAL WAYS TO STAND OUT

    • B.S. degree in Engineering or related field 
    • At least 3 years of professional software development or engineering experience
    • Advanced expertise with Siemens TIA Portal engineering tools and project structures
    • Experience with Siemens S7-1200, S7-1500, or similar PLC systems
    • Knowledge of industrial control systems and automation protocols (PROFINET, PROFIBUS)
    • Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT and industrial PC (IPC) automation solutions
    • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Understanding of security best practices and secure coding principles
    • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
