Delivery Driver

Ugly Bagel Co

Franklin, TN • On-site

$16/hr

Full-time

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Position Overview

We need someone who can get fresh bagels where they need to go before most of Nashville hits snooze for the first time—and then roll up their sleeves in the kitchen. This is a two-part gig: mornings start with delivering fresh bagels, cream cheese, butters, and sauces from our centralized production kitchen in Franklin to our store locations before they open at 7am. Once the route is done, you'll head back to UBDC and shift into prep mode—mixing cream cheeses, making sauces and compound butters, and possibly learning the art of bagel rolling. You're the critical link between our kitchen and our stores, and a key part of the production team that keeps the whole operation stocked. If you're reliable to a fault, like having the roads to yourself, and don't mind getting a little schmear on your hands, let's talk.

Position Details
  • Reports to: Bakery Manager
  • Location: Based at UBDC Production Kitchen (Franklin, TN) with daily routes to our store locations
  • Schedule: Early mornings—deliveries complete before 7am store openings, followed by production prep through the morning/midday; schedule may flex with production and catering needs
  • Compensation: $16/hour depending on experience
Core Responsibilities

Get It There (Daily Deliveries)

  • Load, transport, and deliver fresh bagels, cream cheese, compound butters, and sauces from UBDC to all store locations
  • Complete deliveries on schedule so every store is stocked and ready before their 7am opening—no exceptions, no excuses (okay, maybe a flat tire)
  • Follow established routes and delivery procedures, and communicate proactively if anything threatens the timeline
  • Support catering deliveries and special orders as needed

Protect the Product (Handling & Quality)

  • Load and unload product carefully so bagels arrive ugly in name only—no crushed boxes, no smashed schmear
  • Verify delivery accuracy against production sheets and order counts at both loading and drop-off
  • Maintain proper food handling and temperature practices during transport
  • Flag any quality concerns to the Bakery Manager before product leaves the kitchen

Make the Goods (Production Prep)

  • After deliveries, jump into production at UBDC—mixing cream cheese flavors, preparing sauces, and making compound butters to recipe
  • Follow Ugly Bagel recipes and batch procedures exactly—consistency is the whole game, no freelancing flavors
  • Learn bagel rolling and other production skills as you grow into the role (cross-training is how we build our team)
  • Label, date, and store prepped product properly, and keep your prep station clean as you go
  • Help with packing and staging the next day's orders as needed

Keep It Moving (Vehicle & Equipment Care)

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, tires, fluids, cleanliness) and report maintenance needs promptly
  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean and organized inside and out—it's a rolling billboard for the brand
  • Handle crates, racks, and delivery equipment responsibly and return them to UBDC

Be the Link (Communication & Teamwork)

  • Check in with store managers at each drop-off and relay any needs, shortages, or issues back to the Bakery Manager
  • Document deliveries accurately (times, counts, signatures or check-ins as required)
Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated—our stores are counting on you before the sun comes up
  • Ability to work early morning hours (typically 4am-5am start times)
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and load/unload product throughout the shift
  • Strong attention to detail for order accuracy, recipe consistency, and product handling
  • Comfortable splitting your day between driving and hands-on kitchen prep work, standing for extended periods
  • Good communication skills and a team-first attitude

Preferred:

  • Previous delivery, route driving, or food distribution experience
  • Familiarity with the Franklin / Nashville / Mt. Juliet area
  • Food handler certification (or willingness to get one—we'll help)
  • Kitchen, bakery, or food production experience (cream cheese mixing, sauce making, or dough handling a plus)
Why You'll Love It Here
  • Be done with your route while most people are still on their first coffee—early start, early finish
  • Join UBDC on the ground floor as we grow from three locations to many more
  • Work with a brand that doesn't take itself too seriously (but takes bagels very seriously)
  • No two-hour traffic jams—you own the roads at 5am
  • Learn real production skills—from schmear mixing to bagel rolling—with a clear path toward baker or lead roles
  • Competitive pay and real room to grow as we expand
