The Molding Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead and advance our mold/stamping tool procurement, manufacturing, maintenance and repair operations. The successful candidate will oversee tooling for our Vertical Arburg (14-28 ton) and Horizontal Milacron/Arburg (33-110 ton) machines and high speed stamping equipment, driving automation, process optimization, and team development to achieve world-class manufacturing performance.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop Meritec's in-house Tool Room and toolmaking staff.
  • Lead and mentor process and stamping engineers in high-precision molding operations.
  • Implement molding, automation, and material reprocessing to reduce waste.
  • Oversee tooling and equipment sourcing to meet cost, technology, and lead-time goals.
  • Ensure tight-tolerance production (±0.001" typical, ±0.0005" critical).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturability and quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
  • 5+ years in injection molding; connector or precision-component experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge with the application of SolidWorks and mold flow analysis software.
  • Proven leadership, troubleshooting, and automation experience.
  • In depth knowledge of injection molding and stamping tools.
  • Previous experience successfully managing a tool room.
  • Understanding of tooling manufacturing, methods, and equipment.
  • Previous in depth experience of tooling specification and sourcing.
  • Proven effectiveness as the lead technical expert in molding issues.
  • Working knowledge in programming and operating Arburg and Milacron injection molding machines.
  • Deep understanding of high-precision molding and materials (LCP).
  • Successful implementation of automation, reprocessing, and tooling optimization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of process engineering methodologies, including Six Sigma principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and management teams.
  • Ability to balance immediate impact with long-term development.
  • Ability to meet ITAR requirements of US citizenship or permanent US residency.
  • Openness to training opportunities as needed.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to remain sitting or standing for extended periods, up to 8 hours per workday.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, and office equipment.
• Ability to move about inside the office and occasionally in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, or crouch to access files, equipment, or supplies.
• Must be able to lift, carry, or move objects up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, binders, or office supplies).
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form, including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus as required for computer use and reviewing printed materials.
• Position may occasionally require use of appropriate PPE (e.g., safety glasses, footwear) when entering production areas.
