Finish Specialist
Position Overview:
At RealCraft, our Finish Specialist puts the final touch on each of our handcrafted doors, expertly applying the proper finish and ensuring the lasting beauty of each door. They provide an essential role in building the doors we provide for architects, designers, and homeowners across the country.
Who We Are:
RealCraft designs and builds premium doors and hardware for creative homeowners, architects, and designers nationwide. We're the only direct-to-consumer manufacturer using 100% real materials, true timber doors and solid metal hardware handcrafted onsite using traditional joinery. Quality, craftsmanship, and accountability drive everything we do.
What We Offer:
Pay: $20 to $22 per hour depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Benefits: Great healthcare, paid holidays, and a matching IRA program
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive completed door, mantel, or countertop from the production team.
• Address any small defects by re-sanding, color matching, or repairing.
• Determine which finish to put on, referring to the sales order.
• Apply finishes by hand - no paint booths - to doors and jamb kits as specified on the paperwork.
• Conduct a final inspection prior to shipment.
• Pad and wrap the doors, preparing them for safe shipping.
• Maintain storage and organization of finish products.
• Related tasks, as needed:
• Hang doors
• Attach hardware
• Install silicone sweeps
• Assist with loading doors into crates
• Other tasks as needed.

Our Story
As a young carpenter, Don Rees was dismayed by the consumerism and conformity of the homebuilding industry. He wanted to build homes that were authentic and unique to each client. So Don started building custom timber frame homes in 1976. Don couldn't find ready-made doors that matched each client's style, so he started to make custom doors for each home as well.
This commitment to finding unique solutions led Don to create his first swing-out carriage garage doors on a home in 1995. Soon these solid wood carriage doors became a hallmark of his projects. Before long the demand for carriage doors became so great that Don decided to take the plunge and switch from home building to custom doors full time. That custom door business, Real Carriage Doors, evolved into what is now RealCraft.
Today, RealCraft builds custom, hand-crafted doors and hardware to help homeowners escape from the conformity of mass produced products and find the unique piece that will express their style and last for decades.
