Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build meaningful, long-term relationships with customers, designers, builders, fabricators, and other industry partners.
  • Use relationship-selling techniques through design consultations for residential new construction, high-end renovations, and other projects to maximize selling opportunities.
  • Guide customers through the complete product selection process, including:
    • Understanding the customer’s project, style, budget, timeline, and overall vision.
    • Reviewing plans, drawings, inspiration images, and project requirements when applicable.
    • Assisting with the selection and coordination of stone, quartz, tile, sinks, plumbing, and other related products.
    • Coordinating colors, patterns, scale, textures, finishes, and complementary products to create a cohesive design.
    • Educating customers on product features, applications, availability, pricing, lead times, and care considerations.
    • Identifying opportunities to expand the project through complementary products and additional selections.
    • Documenting selections accurately and communicating necessary information to customers, fabricators, builders, designers, and internal teams.
    • Following selections through the sales process to help ensure an exceptional customer experience from initial consultation through purchase.
  • Create, present, and sell product and design solutions that meet customer needs while achieving individual and company sales goals.
  • Take ownership of the customer experience and design process, providing proactive follow-up throughout the project.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of natural stone, quartz, tile, plumbing products, applications, and current luxury design trends.
  • Conduct customer visits, prospecting, and active hunting for new business. Business-development activities should be reflected on the calendar when applicable and are a critical part of building long-term, repeat business.
  • Host 3–5 in-house Lunch & Learns per branch per quarter, focused on developing relationships with associates, designers, builders, and industry partners.
  • Attend a minimum of 2 industry-related events per quarter to strengthen existing relationships, develop new connections, and generate future business.
