Position Description
Landscape Foreman Job tasks:
Project Planning & Coordination
    • Review plans, work orders, and site layouts before starting work
    • Break down scope of work into daily task assignments
    • Sequence work properly (e.g., grading before sod, drain tile before rock/mulch)
    • Coordinate material deliveries (trees, shrubs, mulch, rock, sod, drain tile, etc.)
    • Communicate schedule updates with project manager

Crew Supervision & Task Oversight
    • Assign laborers to tree/shrub replacement, bed prep, pruning, etc.
    • Ensure proper planting depth, spacing, and installation methods
    • Oversee proper grading and soil preparation for planting
    • Verify correct installation of landscape beds and edging
    • Supervise mulch and rock placement for depth and finish quality
    • Ensure safe and proper use of equipment

Quality Control
    • Inspect completed work daily for workmanship and appearance
    • Ensure work meets company standards and project specifications
    • Check plant health and warranty compliance
    • Confirm clean-up and final presentation of site

Client & Company Communication
    • Serve as on-site point of contact for customers
    • Answer homeowner or GC questions professionally
    • Communicate change orders or site issues to management
    • Document progress with photos if required
    • Complete daily job reports

Hands-On Leadership (When Needed)
    • Step in to assist with planting, grading, or equipment operation
    • Train new laborers on proper installation techniques
    • Demonstrate proper pruning or bed layout techniques
    • Troubleshoot drainage or grading challenges
