Job description

We are seeking a Tile Designer/Sales to join the Mona Lisa creative team. This is a full-time Tile Designer role located in Wilmette, IL and is an on-site role in our beautiful showroom. The Tile Designer will be responsible for designing and creating innovative and aesthetically pleasing tile patterns, mosaics, and murals for various residential and commercial projects. The Tile Designer will work closely with clients to understand their design preferences and provide them with customized tile solutions that meet their needs.

Responsibilities:

  • This is an in-store position that requires daily showroom coverage during store hours: M-F from 9am-5pm
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients to understand and translate their design preferences into creative and effective solutions
  • Ability to create eye-catching, engaging, beautiful spaces, accurate and detailed project specifications and assist clients in a wide range of new construction and remodeling projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and project managers to ensure timely project delivery and the organizational skills to manage all aspects of complex projects from start through a successful completion
  • Experience in designing and creating tile patterns, mosaics, and murals with a strong knowledge of color theory, composition, and visual aesthetics
  • Track record of strong sales performance through the development of relationships with clients and trade professionals
  • Strong product knowledge, remain current with industry trends, and great understanding of the design and installation processes
  • Enhance the experience of our clients by achieving their desired objectives from tile design to installation, care & maintenance
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with all parties to grow customer base
  • Coordinate with outside suppliers, vendors and services as needed
  • Thrive with a commitment to our shared vision

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Sales, Interior Design, Retail, Customer Service, administration or other related fields
  • Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and SketchUp a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Fine Arts, Interior Design, or a related field a plus
  • Knowledge of design, working drawings, order possessing
  • Project management from initial design concepts through completion
  • Develop design concept of client's interior projects and demonstrate tile design and application
  • Utilize CAD resources to create and render client design
  • Utilize QuickBooks, MS Office to manage and communicate with clients, staff and partners
  • Collaborate with homeowners, contractors, architects, and interior designers on project design details and deadlines
  • Work with internal staff to facilitate successful project completion
  • Detail-oriented, Manage and prioritize workflow based on customer needs and resource availability
  • Ability to address client questions and requests via phone, email and in our showroom
  • Collaborate internally on ongoing process optimization
  • Professional appearance with an engaging personality
  • Participate in new team-member onboarding
