Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of journey-level skilled carpentry, plumbing, painting, fabricating, electrical, electronics and mechanical work in the maintenance, repair, alteration and construction of the Carson Nugget and its subsidiaries; and performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Exercises no supervision.

Essential Functions: (This class specification may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties that may be performed.)

Install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for both commercial and residential customers. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems.

Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.

Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.

Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form. Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis.

Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.

Maintain and submit monthly mileage log forms.

Understand company pricing and generate appropriate customer invoice at job site. Electronically process credit card payments. Obtain customer signature at completion of job. Obtain correct customer information including email address.

Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary.

Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer's recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is need to correct.

Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies.

Identify and report to owner potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services).

Maintain facilities and fixtures within the Carson Nugget and its subsidiaries in a functional condition by receiving work orders, conferring with supervisors to determine work priorities and exact specifications of work requested, estimating supplies, materials and costs of repair projects, requisitioning necessary materials, parts, supplies, tools and equipment to assist in meeting the goals and objectives of the Carson Nugget's Golden Touch guest service and preventative maintenance program

Complete carpentry, electrical, painting, electronics, plastering, plumbing and mechanical repair work assignments by constructing, maintaining and repairing facilities, equipment and buildings.

Repair or replace relays, heavy duty fuses, interlocking and magnetic control circuits, alarm systems, time clocks, photo and electric eyes; measure, cut, thread and install electric conduits.

Install, maintain and repair a variety of floor coverings such as carpeting, tile and wood and roof coverings.

Perform skilled carpentry work including rough and finish carpentry, cabinet work, roof repair, fence building and other related areas; construct, install, remodel and repair a variety of facility components such as counters, tables, decks, bookshelves, cabinets, partitions, walls, windows, doors and masonry walls; construct specialized items as required; construct, install, adjust, align and fit or replace doors, door frames, jams, windows, ceilings, baseboards, paneling and molding using a variety of materials including wood, steel, aluminum, tin, plaster and drywall.

Perform concrete work by preparing ground to correct grade, installing forms at desired grade and height and pouring concrete into forms.

Perform skilled painting work including preliminary preparation/repair of work area and surfaces, application of paint, lacquer or stain, clean-up and restoration of area to original useable condition.

Perform skilled electronics including repair and maintenance of security, radio system, phone system, fire alarm system, and surveillance system.

Repair and maintain plumbing by inspecting water valves, sinks, toilets and toilet tanks for leaks and proper operation; adjust water pressure and flow; check for proper drainage; disassemble, reassemble, adjust, replace and repair sinks, toilets and parts including valves and gaskets; clear pipes and drains.

Operate and maintain mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, paint sprayers, welders, plumbing snakes, routers, grinders, electric generators, and gas engines.

Program and operate direct digital controllers including designing control, scheduling and energy management strategies.

Respond to guests' questions, using the Quick Reference Guide, providing information about casino gaming promotions, special and other events and/or programs in order to assist guests, advertise marketing campaigns and encourage guest attendance and participation.

Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner to provide information within the area of assignment.
