Job description

Faribault Foods Inc., the leading food manufacturing plant located in Rita Ranch, is looking for applicants with a great attitude and willingness to learn to join our Maintenance team! We manufacture, can, and supply whole beans, refried beans, and enchilada sauces in over 15 branded items and numerous custom private labels.

SUMMARY: The primary purpose of Facilities Maintenance Technician is to maintain and/or repair the Plant Facility. Repair and maintenance would include painting, lighting, floor repair, bathroom fixtures, etc. to ensure plant is maintained to high standard and provide a safe working environment. Performance shall be consistent with company goals, business unit Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to include safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list of duties to be performed by the Facilities Maintenance Technician. However, the duties are in no way limited to/by the list.

Participate as a Team Member of the Maintenance Organization.

Apply maintenance troubleshooting skills to determine the best process for repair vs. replace.

Communicate information to Maintenance Manager and/or coordinator concerning technical issues, equipment problems, and continuous improvement ideas.

Document equipment repairs/findings onto work orders for input into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP).

Generate work orders, enter and retrieve data from the CMMS system.

Perform simple wiring of ballast and automatic bathroom type controllers.

Utilize Digital Volt Meter to diagnose electrical problems.

Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM's), inspections and/or repair of facilities type equipment during shutdowns which may require weekend work and/or shift reassignment in response to Plant needs.

On occasion assist maintenance department in basic maintenance functions.

Address all mechanical, electrical, material and safety discrepancies as detected and/or report these discrepancies to appropriate personnel as necessary.

Rotate on alternative shifts as required.

Maintain proper safety conditions of Facilities equipment and Company assets.

Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area respecting GMPs.

Work in confined and tight spaces.

Comply with all company safety procedures and guidelines and comply with all company guidelines and policies.

Work daily overtime and weekends as required.

Maintain OSHA Certified Forklift License.

Demonstrate good attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to work with limited supervision and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment. Working knowledge of computers and software applications, preferably with MS Office applications.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratio, percent, draws and interprets bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
