Job Overview

The Masonry TeamLeader is responsiblefor leading on-site masonry and hardscape installations while actively working alongside the crew. This role performs all core masonry tasks while taking primary responsibility for site layout, quality control, crew coordination, and communication with Project Managers. The Team Leader mentors and trains team members, ensures projects are completed safely and efficiently, and upholds company standards for craftsmanship and professionalism.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead, direct, and supportMasonryTeam Membersby providing on-the-job mentorship, training, and guidance

  • Promotea safe, productive work environment and ensure all safety protocols, best practices, and company procedures arefollowed at all times

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to confirm project scope, priorities, and installation details prior to and during job execution

  • Communicate progress, challenges, and material needs to Project Managersin a timely manner

  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and client expectations

  • Lead and perform installation of masonry and small hardscape features such as walkways, patios,retainingwalls, outdoor kitchens, and firepits

  • Take primary responsibility for site layout, measurements, elevations, and adherence to project plans

  • Complete excavation and base installation per project specifications

  • Grade and compact sub-base materials to ensure proper drainage and long-term stability

  • Prepare and mix mortar/mud to the proper consistency for masonry installations

  • Lay out stone, brick, and veneer materials according to design plans

  • Install materials using both wet-set and dry-set methods

  • Cut materials using tile cutters and masonry saws, as needed

  • Perform grouting, jointing, sealing, and finish work to company quality standards

  • Safelyoperateand maintain hand tools, masonry saws, tile cutters, mixers, and measuring tools

  • Identifyand proactively resolve on-site issues or escalate concerns when necessary

  • Assistwith job site setup, organization, loading/unloading of materials and equipment, and daily cleanup as needed

  • Work collaboratively withteammembersand communicate effectivelytocomplete projects on schedule and to quality standards

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in masonry, hardscape, or construction installation

  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a crew within the industry

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, layouts, and job specifications

  • Proficient with hand tools, masonry saws, tile cutters, and mixers

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
