A Tile Designer creates decorative and functional tile designs for floors, walls, and other surfaces in residential and commercial spaces. They work with materials like ceramic, porcelain, and glass, selecting patterns, colors, and textures that enhance aesthetics and functionality. Tile Designers may collaborate with architects, interior designers, and manufacturers to develop unique designs that suit client needs. Their job may involve sketching concepts, using design software, and overseeing the production or installation process.
A typical day for a Tile Designer involves meeting with clients to discuss project vision, drafting and revising tile layouts using specialized design software, and selecting appropriate materials to achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality. You may also visit project sites to take measurements, coordinate with architects and contractors, and ensure your designs are both practical and visually appealing.
