Description
The Accounting Customer Service Representative supports overall fuel and office accounting operations, provides Tiger Way customer service, and contributes to the safe, profitable, and efficient distribution of various types of fuel and petroleum products. As a primary customer contact, this role is 100% on-site at our Charlottesville office, with a Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule and reports to the Finance Manager.

What you'll be doing...

  • Politely and promptly answers general incoming emails and phone calls. Answers basic inquiries, provides accurate information to the public, transfers calls and relays messages to appropriate office staff
  • Provides prompt and exceptional "Tiger Way" customer service and clear communication to internal and external customers
  • Dispatch resources to appropriate locations based on customer needs and manager direction
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, drivers, and technicians, ensuring effective outcomes
  • Utilize specialized software programs to monitor and direct drivers and equipment to access and enter financial information including inventory, and maintains compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Communicate with customers, providing account and delivery information
  • Assists with customer payments and records in appropriate accounting system
  • Develop and maintain efficient processes for dispatch delivery and service scheduling
  • Prepare forms, including billings, statements, invoices, receipts, or vendor data, and process delivery tickets
  • Performs basic clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, ordering office supplies, and coordinating travel arrangements
  • Fosters a team environment by working cooperatively with all departments and customers both internally and externally
  • Responsible for any other tasks and duties as assigned, which may or may not relate to the normal scope of this position

  • 1-2 years' experience in direct customer service; with a 2 or 4 year degree preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing

  • Displays a positive, "can-do" attitude and excellent customer services skills
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • General experience with accounting concepts and software programs
  • Familiarity with the geography of Albemarle County and the surrounding areas is preferred
  • Able and willing to work on-site Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
