Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs structural and precision welding on geotechnical drilling equipment components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding processes to meet design specifications and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Weld structural steel assemblies per blueprints and weld procedure specifications (WPS)

  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate filler materials

  • Inspect welds for defects and perform repairs as needed

  • Grind and finish welds to specification

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols

  • Maintain welding equipment in good working order

  • Follow all safety protocols including hot work and PPE requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2+ years welding experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency in MIG welding; TIG preferred

  • Ability to read weld drawings and symbols

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • AWS D1.1 certification

  • Experience welding chrome-moly or high-strength steels

  • TIG certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Standing 8–10 hrs/day, exposure to weld fumes, UV light, heat, and sparks. Full PPE required including welding helmet, gloves, and flame-resistant clothing.

You should be proficient in:
