Ticketing Internship information

What is a ticketing internship?

A Ticketing Internship is a temporary position, often held by students or recent graduates, where individuals gain hands-on experience in managing and processing ticket sales for events such as concerts, sports games, or theater performances. Interns typically assist with customer service, handle ticket transactions, and learn to use ticketing software. The role provides valuable insight into event operations and customer relations, and can be a stepping stone to a career in event management or the entertainment industry.

What do ticketing interns do?

As a Ticketing Intern, you will typically assist with processing ticket orders, managing customer inquiries, and supporting the ticketing team during events. You may also work with ticketing software, help with on-site box office operations, and contribute to reporting and data entry tasks. This role often involves direct communication with patrons and collaboration with event coordinators, providing you with a well-rounded introduction to event operations and customer service in the live entertainment industry.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a ticketing intern?

To thrive as a Ticketing Intern, you typically need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of event management or customer service, often supported by enrollment in a relevant degree program. Familiarity with ticketing software such as Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, or Tessitura, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, is usually required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and a positive attitude help interns excel in fast-paced, customer-facing environments. These skills ensure efficient ticket processing, positive customer interactions, and smooth event operations.
