Job Overview
The Big Ticket Order Picker Operator (Cherry Picker, High Bay or Order Selector) is responsible for timely and accurate Picking and Put Away of Furniture and Bedding merchandise into bin locations utilizing radio frequency (RF) equipment. Big Ticket Order Picker Operators utilizes an (Cherry Picker, High Bay or Order Selector) which raises up to 30 feet in the air. The Order Picker Operator needs good time management, attention to detail, excellent level of awareness /caution and communication. Performance, both accuracy and productivity are monitored against company and departmental KPI's. Proactively identifying areas for improvement to achieve these goals is actively encouraged. Warehouse environment; may be subjected to loud noises such as forklifts and conveyors.
Essential Functions
  • Efficiently handle all tasks related to material handling and stock movement (Pick, Move, Stage & Put Away)
  • Systemically and physically Pick and Put Away Furniture and Bedding by moving stock around various areas of the warehouse using RF technology and powered equipment.
  • Move product correctly with the use of an RF gun dealing with bin locations and SKUs. When picking orders, you will use an RF gun to pick the product and by scanning the correct barcode. Big Ticket Order Picker Operator will both stock items in correct locations and pick items from locations.
  • Ability to safely operate an Order Picker while wearing Fall Protection. Must pass all required training.
  • Report all equipment failures, damages, and truck accidents as they occur. Provide feedback to the safety committee on environmental issues affecting safe equipment operation.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or unsafe work conditions to supervisor.
  • General warehouse clean-up during shift operation and end of shift.
  • Repetitively maneuvering and handling of Furniture and Bedding up to 250 lbs.
  • Stage picked Furniture and Bedding in proper locations for loading.
  • Following instructions on RF scanning equipment.
  • Accurately read and apply pick labels to Furniture and Bedding stock for outbound orders.
  • Examining Furniture and Bedding for quality and label errors, immediately report any damage or RF problems to supervisor.
  • Arrive to work, scheduled meetings and other job related functions on time and as scheduled.
  • Meet established goals and objectives.
  • Communicate suggestions for improvements and efficiencies to supervisor.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Competencies
  • Minimum High School or GED
  • Must be able to:
    • Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
    • Ability to read, understand and interpret employment policies, instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals in English
  • Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays

Essential Physical Requirements
  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, depth perception and color vision
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.
  • Manual dexterity, visual acuity, reaching, bending, repeatedly lifting and moving up to 250 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and work for long periods up to 8+ hours
  • Ability to work at heights up to 30ft

Supply Chain Only and Colleagues Working in a Supply Chain Facility except in locations governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement:
Random drug testing for all colleagues will be conducted on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, depending upon factors including but not limited to the size of the facility and the number of colleagues on roll. Colleagues will be randomly selected for testing by a third party. Testing must be completed on the same workday the colleague is informed of selection for testing, absent extenuating circumstances. In all circumstances, testing must be completed within 24 hours of notification
