Overview
Columbus NWSL 2028 is seeking a Director, Season Ticket Sales that will be responsible for generating revenue through new business sales of NWSL season tickets and partial plans. It includes the execution of a sales plan designed to increase the team's season ticket base. This position will play a support role to the Vice President by managing dedicated premium and season ticket sales teams in order to achieve organizational sales and revenue goals. Additionally, the Director is responsible for accomplishing the company's performance expectations of the Ticket Sales & Service department based on an annually set budget.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Direct and train a qualified sales staff with the goal of increasing the season ticket base
• Develop and implement short and long-term sales plans
• Mentor sales staff so that activity contributes to collective department goals
• Additionally assist sales staff's efforts to close prospected business
• Work closely with Ticket Operations and Service staff members to provide the highest level of customer service for all season ticket holders and partial plan customers
• Administer efficient, accurate, and timely reporting mechanisms related to sales activity as well as budget pacing activity to be used by senior management
• Create and execute events at Scotts Miracle-Gro Field, the NWSL training facility, or off-site locations to maximize premium and season ticket sales opportunities
• Oversee all season ticket & partial plan sales communications including website content, direct mail and e-mail
• Oversee the development of proposals, collateral materials and audio/visual resources
• Ensure the development of qualified staff members in order to produce positive working environment and appropriately skilled employees
• Maintain and achieve set personal sales goals as provided by the Vice President, Ticket Sales & Service
• Maintain accurate records in support of sales efforts as defined by the organization
• Develop and manage department budget goals for both revenue and operating expenses in a fiduciary manor
• Manage all season ticket inventory and communicate availability to sales staff members on a regular basis
• Collaborate with Crew ticketing leadership team for cross selling opportunities and premium seating opportunities
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities
• At least five (5) years of successful ticket sales experience in addition to two (2) years of management experience in the sports or entertainment industry preferred
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and active listening skills
• Experience with training, hiring and development preferred
• Ability to work well within a team environment, yet comfortable completing tasks independently
• Self-starter with the ability to be creative within a structured environment
• Accurately forecasted business/sales results
• Achieved or surpassed individual and team set sales goals
• Maximized the net revenue goals as determined by senior management
• Created sales programs which have proven to increase the season ticket base
• Secured new business through the efforts of the sales staff
• Created several new initiatives which helped add value to the season ticket holder experience
• Served as a proper role model in professional sports in sales, marketing services and corporate relations
