Ticket Closing information

What is ticket closing?

Ticket closing refers to the final step in a ticketing or customer support process, where a support request or issue (ticket) is marked as resolved and officially closed in the system. This generally happens after the customer's issue has been addressed and no further action is required. Proper ticket closing ensures accurate tracking, reporting, and helps maintain customer satisfaction by confirming that their concerns have been resolved. It also allows support teams to manage their workload effectively and analyze support trends for future improvements.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a ticket closer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Ticket Closer, you need strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of support processes, usually backed by experience in customer service or IT support. Familiarity with ticketing systems like Zendesk, ServiceNow, or Jira, and sometimes ITIL certification, is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and a customer-focused attitude help you stand out in this role. These skills ensure tickets are resolved efficiently, customer satisfaction is maintained, and support operations run smoothly.

What are some common challenges faced in a ticket closing role, and how can they be effectively managed?

One of the main challenges in a Ticket Closing role is ensuring that each ticket is resolved thoroughly and documented accurately, often under tight deadlines. Balancing multiple tickets while maintaining high-quality service can be demanding, especially when dealing with complex or recurring issues. Effective time management, strong communication with team members, and a keen attention to detail are essential for success. Collaborating closely with support agents and technical teams can also help streamline the closing process and reduce the likelihood of tickets being reopened.

What is the difference between Ticket Closing vs Customer Support Specialist?

AspectTicket ClosingCustomer Support Specialist

Common Search & ComparisonFocuses on closing support tickets efficientlyBroader customer interaction and issue resolution

Ticket Closing primarily involves finalizing support tickets after resolving customer issues, emphasizing efficiency and accuracy. Customer Support Specialists handle a wider range of customer interactions, including troubleshooting, problem-solving, and maintaining customer satisfaction. While Ticket Closing is a specific task within customer support, the Specialist role encompasses the entire support process.

Job description

Benefits:
  • Company car
  • Free uniforms
  • Opportunity for advancement
  • Training & development

In-Home Sales Representative
$150K+ uncapped commission and company vehicle provided
Plymouth, MI — Serving Wayne, Oakland, and Washtenaw Counties

You are a seasoned home services salesperson. You want to build your book of business your way, not be micro-managed. You want to be a big fish in a small pond instead of just one of 100 reps. You expect your skillset to be known and respected.
If this is you, apply for the Outside Sales Representative role at Honest Abe Roofing. Backed by an established, lead-optimized franchise, we're building a high-performance roofing company in Michigan, leading with integrity, and looking for proven closers who want to plug in and run deals.
This is a commission-only role with weekly draw, built for high-discipline sales professionals who want uncapped income. It also requires daily physical roof inspections. If you want a base salary or a desk job, this isn't the right fit.
What You'll Do

  • Run pre-qualified appointments with homeowners at company-provided, pre-screened appointments (5–10 per week)
  • Generate your own appointments: canvass, knock doors, build your network; self-generated deals pay higher commission
  • Get on the roof: safely set up ladders and climb residential and commercial roofs to inspect, measure, and assess damage
  • Close the deal: present confident, clear solutions, guide homeowners through financing, and close contracts on-site
  • Manage your pipeline relentlessly to maintain a 25–35% close rate
Why Top Performers Choose Us

  • Real, pre-qualified leads provided
  • Proven sales system within an established franchise
  • Company vehicle
  • Financing options through a network of preferred lenders
  • Weekly draw + uncapped commission
  • Free uniforms and paid licensing support
What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of proven in-home, consultative, big-ticket closing experience (roofing, HVAC, siding, windows, or remodeling strongly preferred)
  • Completely comfortable climbing ladders, working on roofs, and entering attics/homes daily
  • Self-motivated and entirely comfortable betting on yourself in a commission-only environment
  • Smartphone and CRM proficient — you'll use digital tools daily
  • Valid Michigan driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Committed to obtaining or already licensed as a Michigan Residential Builder Salesperson
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Our Screening Standard
We move fast and respect your time. In return, we expect professionalism. Candidates who ghost communications, repeatedly reschedule, or show up late will be removed from consideration.
Who This Is NOT For

  • Anyone uncomfortable with heights, ladders, or working on a roof
  • Anyone looking for a low-pressure, reactive role
  • Anyone unable to pass a pre-employment drug screening
If you know you can close and want to finally earn what you're worth, let's talk.
This franchise is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. Your application will go directly to the franchisee, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this franchisee.
