Job description

Job Summary

VSG is looking for Live Events Street Team members in a Part-Time role, who are highly motivated with exceptional people skills to be an integral part of the Tampa Bay Lightning's Marketing team, focusing on the development and execution of all grassroots marketing initiatives that engage new and existing audiences, providing opportunities to drive revenue and push the brand forward.

Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, the Street Team will be responsible for assisting with all community involvement from a grassroots standpoint. This entails the set-up of all grassroots marketing efforts while out at events such as fairs/festivals, charity events, hockey clinics, etc. around the Tampa Bay area.

While at events, the Street Teamwill be responsible for providing information to fans relevant to the Tampa Bay Lightning organization and assist fans with any inquiries they may have regarding the upcoming schedule, events, tickets, Kids Club, Student Rush, etc. In addition, members of the Street Team will also aid with office duties for the Marketing department when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research and execute grassroots mobile marketing events around the Tampa Bay community representing VSG including local festivals, parades, sports related events.
  • Drive Rolling Thunder, grassroots marketing vehicle to grassroots marketing events. (F-150 and trailer)
  • Assist in maintenance of grassroots marketing vehicle. (Stocking promotional items, cleaning/organizing vehicle, routine vehicle maintenance)
  • Execute set-up of grassroots marketing vehicle at grassroots events.
  • Manage the promotional table while at all grassroots events. (Mingle with fans, answer questions, etc.)
  • Track key performance indicators for all Rolling Thunder events
  • Assist with marketing live events. (watch parties, Fan Fest, Draft Parties, BrewFest, etc.)
  • May assist the Mascot at times with game day and non-game day events
  • General office duties as assigned by Live Events department
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have valid Driver's License
  • College Students currently pursuing a degree in Sport Marketing, Sport Management or Marketing preferred.
  • Must be high-energy, detail-oriented, team players.
  • Must have flexible schedule and be able and willing to work weekends, grassroot events, watch parties, Lightning home games, season kickoff events and complete some office hours.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be a high-energy, detail-oriented team player
  • Familiarity with the different facets of Sports Marketing
  • Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, dependability, initiative, organization, and prioritization.
  • Must be able to work in a part-time capacity, for 5-10 hours per week
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, walk long distances and climb stairs.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language
  • Ability to work in areas that can become crowded with equipment and/or people
  • Ability to work comfortably around special effects including, but not limited to: haze, strobe lights, lasers, etc.
  • Ability to work in loud environments
  • Must be able to walk up to 0.5 miles to and from designated employee parking areas, including in varying weather conditions and during high-traffic event times
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to work in cold/hot indoor and outdoor temperatures
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
