Hydromat Set-Up Operator
Blue Collar
Location: Elgin, IL. 60123Shift Hours: 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.Shift Days: Monday - FridayPay Rate: $18 - $25 per hour BOEJob Type: Temp-Hire
Job Summary: Operation of a rotary transfer machine is an asset. Previous machine experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is preferred. This position requires mechanical aptitude and ability to do math, measurements and use of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers). Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be looking for long-term work.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up multiple spindle bar stock equipment, involved in machining standard, on parts similar in nature, working with a limited range of materials
  • Set and adjust tools and tool holders, set stops, change collets ejectors and, adjust oil level, use a pre-setter to change drills, cutters and tool holders, determine operation sequences, and modify and adapt tooling for special parts
  • Check with supervisor regarding shortages of material or difficulties with tooling
  • Recommend changes in procedures to facilitate machining, assist in processing new parts or placing new equipment in production
  • Notify supervisor of any malfunction of equipment
  • Work from drawings, shop orders, sketches, manufacturer's manuals, use a variety of precision measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances and finish requirements
  • Follow prescribed safety practices, including the use of safety equipment as required
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance procedures on department equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years of Hydromat setup experience required
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver bar stock on average of 25-50lbs
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Ability to critical think and troubleshoot

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 25-50lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
