CNC Set-up Operator
 
Kelly® Engineering is seeking a CNC Set-up Operator for a direct hire opportunity with our Downers Grove, IL-based client. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.

$28.00-30.00 per hour plus $3.00 shift differential
Monday-Thursday & Every other Friday – 2nd shift 3PM -12:30AM

Overview 
 
This client makes advanced electromechanical systems for aerospace and military customers. You’ll find their products in commercial space satellites, launch vehicles, and government programs.
 
As a Set-up Operator, you’ll bring the desire to build a career in precision machining and have the ability to read blueprints, have experience with CNC mill & lathes, and experience maintaining tight tolerances.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and machine parts from engineering (CAD) drawings, hand sketches, and verbal instructions
  • Set-up & operate Okuma & Doosan 5-axis CNC machining centers (Mills)
  • Set-up & operate Okuma & Doosan Dual Spindle Lathes
  • Maintain tight tolerances up to (+/- .000010)
  • Check work using metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, a variety of gages (bore, thread, gage blocks, height) and optical comparators
  • Working knowledge of GD&T

Qualifications:
  •  5+ years’ set up and operation of CNC lathes and multi-axis CNC mills
  • Aerospace/defense experience a plus
  • Formal apprenticeship certificate or NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) certificate/s a plus.
  • Due to ITAR, federal contract requirements, must be able to provide proof of being a US based person
