CNC OPERATOR
Monday - Friday
7:00 am - 4:00 pm
$20.00 per hour, DOE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC mill machines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Review and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications to determine machining parameters.
  • Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure precision machining.
  • Program CNC mills by entering setup instructions, tool offsets, compensation, and other parameters using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Set up CNC mills and lathes by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and other components.
  • Verify machine settings by measuring first-run parts and sample workpieces to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Maintain machining accuracy by monitoring drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and threading operations.
  • Detect and troubleshoot malfunctions, reprogram controls, and replace or sharpen tools as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and report equipment issues or safety hazards.
  • Record and communicate production data, irregularities, and maintenance needs to maintain continuity across shifts.
  • Complete production and quality logs accurately.
  • Support team and company goals by taking ownership of assigned tasks and identifying opportunities to improve operations.
  • Will train under a Level 3 or higher CNC Machinist with advanced technical and training experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must observe, listen, and learn during the training process to develop knowledge of CNC operations and safety procedures.
  • Training duration will vary based on individual progress and proficiency.
  • Able to run parts under supervision but not perform setup or quality control (QC) checks independently.
