Location: Hartwell, GA
Position: Set Up Operator
Shift: 2nd- 3:30pm - 12:00am Monday-Friday *overtime and Saturdays may be required. Some training will be on first shift but then moved to second shift.
Wage: $24.11 + $0.75 shift premium for 2nd shift

Reporting directly to the Shift Manager, as a Utility Set Up, you will be responsible for the safe operation of production equipment using standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include providing assistance in various areas of our manufacturing process as directed. Strive to meet plant goals and customer requirements. Safety is the top priority of every employee.

What you will be doing:

  • Gather, bundle and stack fiberboard partitions and check glue.
  • Check the quality of products.
  • Empty trash barrels in dumpsters and empty scrap buggies onto the shredder. Trash barrels weigh up to 70 lbs.
  • Make gum bands and repair small parts and other general clean-up as required.
  • Gather strips from conveyor and fill hoppers and keep them filled properly.
  • Gather partitions at the end or side of conveyor, pick up bundles and strap and palletize.
  • If on a conveyor, bundles will be stacked by hopper feeder.
  • Remove bundles from the conveyor at the stacking area and place on pallets. Bundles weigh approximately 8-40 lbs.
  • Operates shredder.
  • Keep are clean and orderly to remain a safe area.

  • Have the ability to count accurately, able to learn quickly and adapt to change and work well in a team environment.
  • Can use various tools including a broom, utility knife, bundler machines, turntable, tape gun, scrap buggies, shredders, air hose and trash barrels.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of or ability to learn safety rules and procedures, and operating policies and procedures.
  • Able to communicate effectively with others.
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance and be reliable and dependable.
  • MUST BE PROFICIENT WITH USING A RULER/TAPE MEASURE
