Job description

Location: Hoffman Estates, IL preferred — open to remote for the right candidate · Type: Full-Time · Team: Sales

About Us

Atom.com is reimagining the future of naming. We've built a powerful AI-native domain marketplace and branding platform that helps founders and established businesses secure a strong name and build a stronger brand, faster. As a fast-growing company at the intersection of AI, branding, and startups, we're scaling our outbound engine — and looking for someone early in their career who wants to build sharp sales instincts and grow quickly on a high-impact team.

The Role

We're looking for an outbound-first Business Development Representative to drive growth by selling premium domains to prospective buyers. This is your primary focus: building targeted contact lists, running high-volume personalized email outreach, and keeping the pipeline organized and moving. You'll also support strategic outreach to technology platforms in the startup ecosystem as we expand into new partnership channels.

This is a research-and-outreach-first role, and we do it the modern way. As an AI-native company, we expect you to lean on modern AI tools to work smarter — researching prospects faster, personalizing at scale, and automating the busywork so you can focus on the conversations that matter. We're not looking for someone to grind through outreach the traditional way; we're looking for someone who uses technology to do more, better. You'll spend real time in spreadsheets, CRMs, and inboxes, and you'll take pride in doing that work well. You'll work closely with our Sales and Growth leads to keep target lists current and outreach on schedule, then hand warm, qualified conversations to the right lead to carry forward.

You won't just send emails — you'll build the top of the funnel, warm up leads, and set the stage for deals to move forward.

What You'll Do

  • Run outbound domain-sales outreach to prospective buyers, tailoring messaging to each prospect's context
  • Build, maintain, and prioritize structured outreach lists (target companies, decision-makers, verified contact info) in spreadsheets and our CRM
  • Research and identify accurate contact information for key decision-makers (founders, CEOs, and other leaders) at target companies
  • Execute high-volume email campaigns, customizing at scale rather than copy-pasting templates
  • Use modern AI tools to speed up research, personalization, and outreach — always looking for smarter, more efficient ways to work
  • Track outreach status, replies, and follow-ups, keeping the pipeline clean and up to date
  • Continuously refine target lists and messaging based on response rates and team feedback
  • Support outbound partnership outreach to technology platforms as we open new channels
  • Hand off warm responses and qualified conversations to the appropriate Sales or Growth lead for next steps

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in inside/outbound sales, SDR/BDR, or a comparable research-and-outreach role at a tech company or startup
  • Hands-on experience with high-volume email outreach tools (e.g., Apollo, Outreach, lemlist, Smartlead, Instantly, Mailshake, or similar)
  • Strong research and list-building skills; comfortable living in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and a CRM
  • Excellent written communication — able to personalize outreach at scale without sounding templated
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed; genuinely enjoys process-driven, structured work
  • Comfortable managing many active outreach threads at once
  • Tech-forward and comfortable adopting modern AI tools to work smarter — you'd rather leverage technology than do things the traditional, manual way
  • High-ownership mindset — someone who follows through and takes responsibility
  • Bonus: experience prospecting into startups/tech companies, or in domain names, branding, or SaaS — not required

Why This Role Is Different

  • Own the top of a real sales funnel and see directly how your outreach turns into deals
  • Direct mentorship and training from experienced operators in the domain and branding space
  • Exposure to real transactions, founders, and high-value decision-making
  • Clear path to grow into Account Management, Partnerships, or Sales roles

Compensation & Benefits

Salary plus bonus (no commission structure). Full-time. Hoffman Estates, IL preferred; open to remote for the right candidate.

Benefits include:

  • 401(k)
  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Paid time off
