Quality Engineer, Manufacturing
Rutherford, NJ
$50 to $60 per hour
Third Party International
Third Party International is seeking a Quality Engineer to support a manufacturing facility in Rutherford, New Jersey that produces industrial equipment. This is a full time, on site role focused on driving corrective action, improving inspection and measurement processes, and supporting material review and disposition activities on the shop floor.
About the Role
You will work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure that customer and internal quality requirements are consistently met. The position involves root cause and corrective action development, hands on inspection and measurement work, and active participation in material review and disposition decisions for nonconforming product.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and document root cause and corrective action activities for internal and customer issues
  • Support and improve inspection plans, measurement methods, and gauging for fabricated and machined components and assemblies
  • Participate in material review activities including defect evaluation, rework or repair planning, and scrap disposition
  • Review nonconformance reports and drive closure of corrective and preventive actions
  • Work with operators and engineers on the shop floor to contain issues, verify effectiveness of actions, and prevent recurrence
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of quality procedures, work instructions, and control plans
  • Support customer quality responses and preparation of quality documentation as needed
Qualifications
  • Manufacturing background in industrial equipment, rotating machinery, blowers, compressors, pumps, or similar heavy mechanical products
  • Strong experience with RCCA tools such as 5 Why, fishbone, 8D, or similar methods
  • Hands on measurement and inspection experience using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other precision tools
  • Experience with nonconforming material control, MRB or similar material disposition processes
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD and T
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
  • Effective communication skills and comfort working directly on the shop floor
  • Must be able to work on site in Rutherford, New Jersey
