Job description

Grace Christian School, a private K-8 Christian School, is looking for an 3rd Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Located on the east side of Columbus in Blacklick, OH, Grace Christian School is committed to providing an academically rigorous and solid Christian education to our diverse student body. At Grace, the integration of Biblical teaching in all areas and in all classes ensure that our students learn to see God in all facets of life. In our Christ-centered curriculum, God's word is the standard of truth and authority by which all subjects are taught.

Position Summary:

The  3rd Grade Teacher supports the academic, social, and spiritual development of students by delivering engaging instruction, fostering a positive classroom environment, and modeling Christian values. This role contributes to the overall mission of the school by promoting student growth, maintaining effective communication, and supporting a Christ-centered learning community.
Reports To: Elementary School Principal
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the school’s mission and effectiveness by contributing ideas, feedback, and professional insight toward continuous improvement.
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans and course objectives in alignment with curriculum standards and the school’s Christian philosophy of education.
  • Deliver instruction using a variety of teaching methods, materials, and technologies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through assignments, assessments, and classroom engagement.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to students to encourage growth academically, socially, and behaviorally.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance, attendance, and conduct.
  • Foster a structured, respectful, and safe classroom environment that supports learning and student development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and provide guidance or resources as needed.
  • Adhere to all applicable school policies and legal requirements.
  • Serve as a positive Christian role model, integrating faith into daily interactions and supporting students’ spiritual growth.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid state teaching certification (ODE) or ACSI certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of instructional practices and student development
  • Ability to plan and deliver effective lessons
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
