We are seeking anexperiencedDirector ofPreconstructionatourWashington DCoffice.

What you will do:

  • Management of all project stakeholders (owner, architect, engineers, subcontractors) fromconceptdesign throughconstructiondocuments.
  • Developriskassessments based on project specific information.
  • Develop conceptualestimates utilizing market data.
  • Performvalueengineeringtasks.
  • Performconstructabilityreviews, generate RFIs and qualifications.
  • Assist in contract reviews.
  • Assist in schedule development.
  • Maintain an understanding of construction costs based on the local market.
  • Participate in gathering of data to support market condition research, inclusive of,but not limitedtoconstruction economic, trends, current projects, contractor's availability and skill sets, labor force, and other miscellaneous contributions on aspects of construction.
  • Organize cost data into department's historical database.
  • Develop scopes of work for all project related trades.
  • Respond to common inquiries or issues from clients, regulatory agencies, or member of the business and general community at large.
  • Assist in Business Development & Procurement
  • Oversee and manage Estimating for Multiple Estimating Teams.
  • Implement new programs and processes successfully.
  • Review/Participate in Capital Project Bids.
  • Establish Bid Strategy with Lead Estimators.
  • Manage new and current Subcontractor relations.
  • Establish and Participate in Project Buy Out.
  • Assist on quarterly revenue projections.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience estimating construction projects ranging from $5 million to $75 million.
  • Must have the ability tolead a negotiated project.
  • Must have the ability to read drawings and interpret specifications, scope narratives and geotechnical reports.
  • Computer skills required -Planswiftor other digital quantity takeoff tool,Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Destini Estimator a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of WDCmarket preferred,must be familiar withWDCmarket.
  • Relevant experience in the new construction of office,hotel,health care, multi-unit residential, higher education and retail buildings is preferred, but not required.
