We are seeking a qualified Boiler Operator / Security Officer to join our team on 3rd shift. This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building utility systems while also performing security-related duties to help maintain a safe and secure facility environment during overnight hours.

The ideal candidate will possess boiler operating experience, applicable certifications, and the ability to monitor critical building systems while maintaining a strong focus on safety, security, and regulatory compliance.

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: 3rd Shift | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM CST

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Boiler Operations:
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, engines, pumps, and auxiliary equipment to ensure efficient system performance.
  • Read and interpret gauges, meters, charts, computerized monitoring systems, and control panels.
  • Monitor boiler water, fuel, chemical, and steam levels to ensure safe and compliant operation.
  • Adjust valves, controls, and related equipment to regulate pressure, temperature, airflow, and fuel consumption.
  • Conduct routine inspections of mechanical equipment and utility systems.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions, abnormal operating conditions, and maintenance needs, and promptly report findings.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, inspection records, and required documentation.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, environmental regulations, and facility operating standards.
  • Respond appropriately to equipment failures, alarms, and emergency situations.
Security Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine patrols of the facility, mechanical rooms, and surrounding property.
  • Monitor access points, gates, and building entrances to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or security concerns.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, activity logs, and security documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with facility management, emergency responders, and security personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and company assets.
  • Enforce site rules, policies, and procedures while providing professional customer service.
Qualifications
  • Must be a licensed Class 3 Boiler Operator.
  • Must possess a Class 1 Boiler Operator Certificate or be willing and able to obtain the certification within 1–2 years of employment.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of boiler operating experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical manuals, operating procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Must be dependable, professional, and detail oriented.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform security patrols for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access mechanical equipment areas.
  • Ability to work in industrial and mechanical room environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as needed.
  • Ability to quickly respond to emergency situations and alarms.
