Job description

Assists in performing duties required to keep the physical structure, building systems, and associated equipment of the hospital in good repair. Supports routine operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, medical gas, fire/life safety, patient care equipment, security hardware, and related systems. Maintains accurate CMMS documentation and communicates effectively with team members to support safe and reliable hospital operations.

Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.

Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health system organization policies and procedures.

Education/License/Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of building systems knowledge in a hospital or commercial facility environment.
  • Third (3rd) Class Boilers License or obtain one within one (1) year of hire or transfer.
  • Certified in Forklift and Bobcat required within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Certified in LOTO and required PPE required within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Montana DEQ Underground Storage Tank Class C Operator required within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
  • Experience with basic operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and/or preventive maintenance of building systems, which may include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, medical gas, fire/life safety, and related equipment.
  • Ability to use CMMS, radio, email, PDA, and communication tools to manage assignments and document work.
