Thermo King Service Technician Experienced

Thermo King West, Chesapeake & Central Carolinas are now Force TK. The company has about 300 employees across its 13 locations. It has also been very successful in diversifying its equipment portfolio that it sells and supports. Today, Force TK and its subsidiaries are market leaders in Thermo King transport refrigeration, Versalift aerial buckets, TICO terminal tractors, Club Car commercial vehicles, Knapheide truck bodies, trailer repair, and consumer golf carts. Force TK is one of North America’s largest and most respected dealerships in the critical transport refrigeration space.

Job Description:

  • Proactively conduct diagnostic procedures on transport temperature equipment and perform necessary repairs with efficiency and high-quality standards
  • Efficiently perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on transport temperature control equipment with high quality standards
  • Efficiently install transport temperature control equipment according to Thermo King specifications with high quality standards
  • Efficiently perform Auxiliary Power Unit installation, repairs and service with high quality standards
  • Maintain current knowledge of Thermo King new product developments and service bulletins/campaigns
  • Adherence to all dealer and Thermo King standards and work procedures
  • Maintain CERTI-TECH certification level and participate in other training as required per national Thermo King standards
  • Maintain dealer and Thermo King confidentiality
  • Maintain good housekeeping
  • Adherence to all safety procedures
  • Maintain required paperwork to support dealership and Thermo King requirements
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as require

Technician Levels / Career Path

  • Technician level and pay grade is based on experience in the industry or similar.
  • Advancement in the Thermo King Service Technician position is as follows:
    • Apprentice Technician
    • Certified Technician
    • Professional Technician

Basic Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, transport refrigeration, and/or electrical systems preferred but will train. Experiences could include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; related vocational or technical training preferred
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge required
  • Valid EPA 608 Type II, 609 certification preferred

  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card if required for driving certain trucks
  • Must be able to meet insurability standards for various dealer vehicles
  • Successful completion of all pre-employment screening
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to travel as required for training or to meet customers’ needs
  • Owning a complete set of quality hand tools is preferred
