Job description

Job Summary

This position is within the Major Projects- Engineering organization in Vistra Nuclear.
Key functions include ownership and resolution of higher-tier station thermal performance issues for Beaver Valley, Perry, and Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plants that need to be resolved to support uprate of these units. This job includes coordination with various vendors including cooling tower, steam turbine and steam cycle specialists. Accountable to work with vendors, peers, and other stakeholders to identify latent deficiencies to close and improvements to make to improve increase rated output of the units. Frequently works independently to identify and perform tasks as required to meet Vistra objectives. Supports the gathering and analysis of information necessary for Vistra initiatives or to solve complex problems. The position will develop and maintain effective working relationships with others including internal and external to the company.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identifies and performs task as required to meet objectives
  • Lead interpretation and analysis of complex issuesassociated with thermal performance of the Vistra nuclear units
  • Coordinates assigned projects, studies and initiatives through completion
  • Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Provides oversight of vendor activities such as tests and walkdowns
  • Prepare and present reports including recommendations to resolve complex issues
  • Participate in and on occasion lead special projectsand committees including external organizations

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

  • 4 yrs. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum 6 yrs. relevant job experience(Ideal)
  • Nuclear experience preferred
  • Experience in thermal performance analysis of steam cycle components and systems preferred
