Clinic Receptionist

Job Description Summary:

The Receptionist greets and welcomes patients and visitors to theclinic,demonstratingstronginterpersonalskills and a professional demeanor. They are responsible for managingthefront desk responsibilities including maintaining patient flow;scheduling appointments;appropriately handling phone calls;validating insurance eligibility;entering demographics, insurance, and other pertinent information inthe Electronic Health Record and othervarious systems; anddetermining and collecting time of service payments and/or past due balances at the time of appointment.

24 hours/week

Job Duties:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, anddemonstratesthe Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Performspatient check-in at the time of visit and completes allstepsnecessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient andin compliance withall clinic and regulatory policies.

  • Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.

  • Schedule appointments according to office guidelines.

  • Obtainaccuratepatient and insurance information, collecting copays (TOS) and deductible amounts.

  • Copy/scan patient access related hardcopy materials (e.g.ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record.

General Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalentrequired.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.

  • Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively withpatient, visitors,and colleagues while performing their job duties.

  • Mustmaintaina high degree of confidentiality when dealing with patient information.

  • Mustpossessa personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
