Senior Manager of Operations - Final Mile

Your role on the team: 

  • Coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross-dock operation
  • Build and manage the annual operational budget, P&L, and labor costs.
  • Lead daily operations for local and regional big and bulky home delivery networks.
  • Reduce damage rates, missed delivery windows, and return product costs.
  • Resolve high-escalation customer complaints regarding damaged property or late arrivals.
  • Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area
  • Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees
  • Participates in marketing and sales efforts, ensuring assigned facilities have the resources necessary to meet company goals and objectives, as well as P&L responsibilities
  • Manages direct reports to include Team Assistant Manager of Operations and Terminal Manager
  • Responsible for Recruitment and retention of contract carriers

What you need: 

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
