RICHMOND RESIDENTIAL SERVICES, INCORPORATEDJOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: IDD Support Specialist
REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Director
LAST UPDATED: August 2026
STATUS & SALARY: Non-Exempt

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops, coordinates, and supports a variety of quality assurance, compliance, risk management, and data management activities for RRSI full time and part time employees. The IDD Support Specialist supports agencywide quality improvement initiatives through auditing, monitoring, reporting, documentation review, incident analysis, regulatory compliance activities, and data driven outcome measurement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supports agency quality assurance and compliance initiatives through medication audits, Therap audits, QuickMAR reviews, documentation audits, monthly spot checks, and other monitoring activities.

2. Coordinates and maintains quality assurance tracking systems including monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance activities.

3. Supports the agency's Data Driven Outcomes initiatives through Therap DDO mapping, Therap Business Intelligence reporting tools, Therap scanning, and quality dashboards.

4. Assists with Root Cause Analysis activities, CHRIS reporting, appeal letter reviews, ISP updates, and other compliance related documentation.

5. Conducts Therap documentation reviews and collaborates with agency leadership to improve documentation practices.

6. Supports agency training initiatives through LMS administration, NEO support, CPR instruction, Therapeutic Options instruction, and training compliance tracking.

7. Participates in agency committees including the Quality Improvement Committee, Forms Committee, and Risk Management activities.

8. Supports Four Seasons programming, event planning activities, the Annual Picnic, Holiday Party, and procurement of related supplies.

9. Researches DBHDS regulations, HCBS standards, Medicaid Waiver requirements, Human Rights regulations, and agency policies.

10. Maintains required certifications and performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance principles, auditing methodologies, DBHDS Licensure Regulations, HCBS requirements, Medicaid Waiver standards, Human Rights regulations, and electronic documentation systems.

Skill: Demonstrated skill in auditing, documentation review, data analysis, and use of Therap, Therap DDO, Therap Business Intelligence tools, Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Office applications, and database systems.

Ability: Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements, conduct detailed reviews, communicate effectively, work independently, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Therap and quality management systems preferred.
  • Current CPR and Therapeutic Options Instructor certification or ability to obtain.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass all required screenings.
