Job description

Wheel Loader Operator

General Responsibilities

  • Work safely - know, understand, and follow all safety rules
  • Load and unload log trucks
  • Feed sawmill occasionally
  • Assist Log Yard Foreman when needed
  • Clean up equipment daily

Qualifications

  • Experience operating a wheel loader or similar heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of hardwood species is preferred
  • Enthusiasm for being part of a team and working in a team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and willing to take initiative
  • Ability to cross-train on different loading jobs
  • Ability to make decisions quickly utilizing hand-eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
