Job description

Xcite Automotive is now seeking an Automotive Painter with Wheel Repair Experience for our partner dealers in Jacksonville, Florida!

Job Description: The Automotive Painter is responsible for performing all aspects of vehicle and wheel refinishing, including surface preparation, paint application, and final inspection. This role requires a high level of precision, efficiency, and consistency to meet dealership quality standards and production timelines.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform automotive painting and refinishing including sanding, masking, priming, basecoat, and clearcoat application
  • Execute color matching and blending techniques to achieve seamless, OEM-quality finishes
  • Prepare vehicle surfaces through proper cleaning, sanding, and masking procedures
  • Complete minor wheel (rim) repair and refinishing, including curb rash and surface imperfections
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Maintain paint equipment, spray guns, and work areas in clean and operational condition
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and dealership guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to meet production goals

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • At least 3 years of automotive painting or refinishing experience
  • Hands-on experience with wheel (rim) repair and refinishing
  • Proficiency with spray guns, paint systems, sanding, and prep work
  • Strong understanding of color matching and blending techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-based environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in high-volume dealership or collision center environments
  • Advanced knowledge of paint systems, materials, and application techniques
  • Experience with powder coating, alloy wheel refinishing, or cosmetic wheel restoration
  • Familiarity with production metrics, turnaround times, and efficiency standards
  • Ability to perform minor body prep or paint correction work as needed
  • ASE, I-CAR, or equivalent industry certifications

Beneficial Previous Experience: 

  • Automotive Painter / Refinish Technician in a high-production setting
  • Collision Repair or Auto Body Technician with paint-focused responsibilities
  • Wheel Repair / Rim Restoration Technician with strong painting background
  • Automotive Reconditioning Technician supporting dealership operations
  • Experience working in fast-paced, performance-driven environments with daily output expectations
