Description

We are looking for a skilled C-Class Fitter/Welder to join our team. This position requires an individual with hands-on experience in fitting and welding metal components to create and assemble structures or parts according to specifications. As a C-Class Fitter/Welder, you will be responsible for reading blueprints, preparing materials, and using welding equipment to join and fabricate metal pieces with precision and efficiency.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding Operations: Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, or flux-core welding on metal components to assemble or repair products.
  • Fitting and Assembly: Fit, align, and assemble metal parts to specifications, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and integrity of components.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine the requirements for welding and fitting operations.
  • Material Preparation: Prepare and clean metal surfaces for welding, including grinding, cutting, and beveling. Select appropriate materials and equipment for each project.
  • Quality Control: Inspect welded and fitted parts for dimensional accuracy and conformity to specifications. Ensure that all welds are free from defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercuts.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain welding and fitting tools, equipment, and machines to ensure they are in good working condition. Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including welders, fabricators, and supervisors, to ensure smooth operations and meet production schedules.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including material usage, time logs, and any issues encountered during the welding or fitting process.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in welding or metalworking (e.g., AWS, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a fitter and welder, with hands-on experience using MIG, TIG, Stick, or other welding techniques.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with various fitting and welding tools, equipment, and techniques.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in welding, fitting, and metalworking techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of welding and fitting materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring precision in measurements and weld quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor welding or fitting issues and adjust processes as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in noisy, hot, and sometimes hazardous environments.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing.
