Midstream Integrity Services (MIS) is an oil & gas midstream services company based in San Antonio, TX. Service offerings are divided into 3 areas of expertise: Compliance / Corrosion Control Services, Control Room / SCADA Management Services, Measurement (Back Office) Services. Our commitment to excellence has created this expansion to serve 20+ midstream & upstream operators in the Eagle Ford Shale and the Permian Basin, as well as Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and other plays across the United States.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

This position reports to the Control Room Manager.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pipeline Controller gains experience of pipeline operations in a safe, dependable, and efficient manner while assisting in the day-to-day decision process of operating the pipeline system. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete basic system training
  • Obtain/maintain Pipeline Control Operator certification
  • Monitor and Control natural gas and liquid pipelines
  • Provide emergency response coordination and control based upon established protocol
  • Monitor and analyze pipeline operating conditions (flows, pressures, temperatures) at various facilities
  • Monitor pipeline system performance and capacity
  • Recognize and resolve vital operational problems in a timely manner
  • Properly record instances of equipment repair or calibration
  • Maintain communications with field operations
  • Document all activities
  • Inform management team of day-to-day activities
  • Recognize and react to AOC’s
  • First Point of Contact
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Must be proficient in typing
  • Must be able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail (multi-task)
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 5 years pipeline controller experience preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Must be able to visually monitor several computer screens in a control room environment and work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (including nights, holidays, and weekends) with minimal time away from the control console. Must be available for scheduled on-call/relief duties.
  • Must maintain a high level of mental alertness and be able to remain calm and alert during emergency situations. Response time is very critical.
  • Must have the ability to work in an isolated environment
  • Must possess strong computer skills
  • Must have excellent problem sensitivity, oral expression, selective attention, deductive and inductive reasoning, information ordering
  • Candidate will be an accountable, self-motivated, and self-directed individual with good communication skills (ongoing phone conversations with other Systems Controllers, Supervisors and Field Personnel can be expected).

PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to see and hear detail and have visual color discrimination as well as peripheral vision
